Large workpieces – Large cleaning solution#.

Cleaning, rinsing, and drying complex workpieces that weigh as much as an Airbus A350. PURIMA, a specialist in parts cleaning based in Porta Westfalica, took on this challenge. For a major client that manufactures, among other things, engines for the marine industry, the goal was to develop an automated cleaning system capable of cleaning large-scale cylinder-crankcase assemblies from marine engines fully automatically and efficiently.

Fully automated cleaning on a length of 30 meters#.

A fully automated cleaning system for battery tray components—which are installed as integral parts of electric vehicles—that is integrated into the customer’s infrastructure, has been successfully implemented by PURIMA, the Porta Westfalica-based expert in industrial component cleaning, for a major customer in the automotive industry. Along a production line, these components are first mechanically processed and deburred; they then require thorough cleaning to completely remove both residual oil traces and metal shavings.

Fine cleaning of components for dual clutch transmissions#.

At one of the largest automotive manufacturers, geometrically complex gears and pinions for dual-clutch transmissions have to be cleaned particle-free in high volumes. Cleaning is performed after surface compaction by blasting with steel beads. After cleaning, the components are sent directly to final assembly. Particles in the gearbox inevitably destroy the function of automatic shifting and thus lead to high follow-up costs.
