New drive technologies bring with them new cleaning tasks
Higher ranges of electric cars require larger battery capacities. PURIMA successfully installed a proven FLOWTRONIC® in a new dimension for a leading global automotive supplier. The aluminum components are cleaned and rinsed in a 5-step process with subsequent drying before welding. A special equipment feature is the wastewater treatment system, which treats wastewater produced until it reaches discharge capacity.

Large components require large thinking

The components are used to hold the vehicle batteries and are, among other things, static elements of the vehicle. The largest component has dimensions of approx. 2,000 x 1,600 mm, resulting in overall plant dimensions of 30,000 x 5,500 x 5,000 mm. The size of the plant places special demands on the logistics, which come into play both during installation and during internal component transport.

Complete integration into automatic production line with universal product carriers

A major task in the project was to clean both large individual parts and small parts in baskets, prior to welding. The task was to develop a universal component holder for all components, on which each component has its fixed place. This is necessary for a defined cleaning in the process. Since the assembly is partly carried out by robot, the highest demands were also placed on the precision. The PURIMA design team successfully tackled this task and generated real added value for the customer with a universal component fixture that can be loaded by a robot.
